Kidtropolis
A brand new indoor kids playground opened up a few weeks ago in Richmond, BC! It's a mini city for our littles to rule. I loved the concept when I first heard about it and loved it even more when we got to see and experience it in person. Why didn't we have these cool parks while we were growing up
Admission is reasonable at $16 per child. This cost includes the entry of one adult and an extra adult admission is $8 more. Children under 1 years old are free!
No outside food or drinks are allowed but they do have an in-house cafe that serves typical theme park meals such as hot dogs, pizza and wraps. I called ahead to see if they offered food for children under 1 and unfortunately they do not. As per the gentleman I spoke to over the phone, it is okay to bring in food for children under 1. For our meal, I ended up paying $21 for a chicken caesar wrap, an earl grey tea, a bag of apple slices and grapes and finally, C's kids chicken strip meal (2 strips) that came with a side of carrots and celery. A bit pricey but that was expected.
There wasn't very many people during our visit, maybe a handful of kids between 1045am and 130pm but that suited us just fine! Next time I'll have my husband come along with us so that each of the kids has the attention they need. The building is safe and there are only two points of access, the entry and exit. Both require someone from the front desk to buzz you in and out. As a parent, this feature is important because you never know when your little can slip away. I really appreciate Kidtropolis for putting the safety of our children first and foremost.
There are rooms available for birthday parties and the like! I'll definitely be hosting C's next birthday there.
I'm a bit of a clean freak and this place certainly passed the clean test!
Now onto the cool stuff.
The play area was better than I imagined. The whole point of Kidtropolis is to encourage pretend play and each set up came with props and even costumes. There was a house, a veterinary clinic, a grocery store, a hair salon, a school, a pizzeria, a concert stage, a fire hall, a hospital, a police station, a gas station and even an air plane! C's favourite was the air plane and baby H loved the pizzeria (she's definitely a Ganief). When the kids needed something different to do, there was the raddest indoor playground that I have ever seen to explore. It included a tree house and three sets of slides! I ended up taking baby H down one of the slides and I had a blast going down it! That's right, Mommies can have fun too!
We had such a blast playing at Kidtropolis and will be back again soon. It's the perfect place for the kids to let off some steam, to learn and to have fun! Enjoy the photos!
She kept kissing this dinosaur! Too cute.
