Bridesmaids Brunch
Both of my best friends are getting married this year and I have the huge honour of standing beside them as a bridesmaid at their weddings. I wanted to do something special for these amazing women who inspire me every day, so I invited the beautiful brides and the bridesmaid squad to brunch in my home.
I did a lot of research before figuring out what I wanted to do in regards to food for my little get together. I knew that I didn't want to throw another wine and cheese night so I thought I'd try out a brunch instead.
I ordered party platters from a local grocer called Save-On-Foods, a store that I visit often for their great options for organic and gluten-free products. I ordered the Meat and Cheese platter, the Deluxe Sandwich platter and the Continental Breakfast platter; all of them were delicious and well-priced. Check out their Made-to-Order section, here.
The Continental Breakfast had muffins, scones, delicious croissants and struddles galore. I have a sweet tooth so this was my favourite platter (hehe).
The Meat and Cheese platter was delicious and included cubed cheese and rolled meats. This was by far the most popular platter at the brunch!
The Deluxe Sandwich platter was delicious too and had a variety of different sandwiches to offer. My favourite was the turkey sandwich!
I've always wanted to try making chocolate dipped strawberries and so I bought some milk chocolate(dip) and white chocolate (drizzle) to melt and the end product was delicious. I will be making these for my daughters birthday party as well (Frozen Hearts!).
I love to incorporate fruits to my parties, because they're healthier alternatives to sweets and perfect compliments to a table in regards to colour. Plus, any leftovers would belong to my kids and I would much prefer them to be eating fruits over cake!
My lovely drink bar starring my current obsession.
Ever hear of Rae Dunn? I am obsessed with her pottery! More on this talented lady soon.
But first, Mimosas
I found this off Pinterest and had to recreate it for the party! I'm not a big drinker but mimosas are one of the few drinks that I indulge in every now and then. Also, when I think Brunch, I automatically think mimosas! Don't you?
I purchased a kraft paper roll from the dollar store, found lettering I liked off Dafont.com and traced it right onto the Kraft paper. I painted the letters in white paint and voila, a total calligraphy knock-off! Truth is, I am terrible at calligraphy. I've tried. LOL.
For the paper flowers, I purchased this Paper Flower Kit from Walmart years ago. I was supposed to use it for another project but never got around to because at the time, it seemed a little intimidating. After researching DIY's on Youtube, I decided to try my luck and they turned out wonderful. I visited my local dollar store and picked up some pink card stock to make some pink flowers and I loved how they turned out.
I found the juice labels and even the mimosa instructions printables off Pinterest for FREE! Here are the links: Juice Labels | Mimosa Bar Instructions
I often use My Vinyl Touch, an Etsy shop that creates custom decals and I got these decals made for my best friends for their own personalized champagne flutes. They personalized the table and the gold meshed well with the rest of the decor.
I knew some of the ladies weren't big drinkers so I made sure to add a bottle of Pelligrino to the mix to create non-alcoholic mimosas!
When you have amazing best friends like I do, you'd do anything to make them smile. I am so thrilled to be apart of their lives and so honoured that I will get to stand beside them and witness them marry the love of their lives this summer.
I hope you liked my brunch details!
